HTTP 429Too Many Requests

The org’s request rate limit was exceeded.

Rate limits are applied per org, and additionally per client IP as a pre-authentication backstop. Every response carries RateLimit-Limit and RateLimit-Remaining; a 429 additionally carries Retry-After.

How to resolve it

• Honour Retry-After — it tells you exactly how long to wait.
• Watch RateLimit-Remaining and slow down before you reach zero.
• Prefer batch endpoints over per-record calls; one batch request costs one unit of rate limit.
