HTTP 429Too Many Requests
The org’s request rate limit was exceeded.
Rate limits are applied per org, and additionally per client IP as a pre-authentication backstop. Every response carries RateLimit-Limit and RateLimit-Remaining; a 429 additionally carries Retry-After.

Retry-After— it tells you exactly how long to wait. - Watch
RateLimit-Remainingand slow down before you reach zero. - Prefer batch endpoints over per-record calls; one batch request costs one unit of rate limit.
